The Enterprise Sector

Manufacturing processes and commercial and public sector buildings (i.e. excluding all transport and domestic related activity) produce approximately 54Mt of carbon emissions (based on 2002 data) per annum. Within these there are four main classes of users: energy intensive industries (c.45% of business and public sector emissions), large non-energy-intensive companies (c.25%), SMEs (c.20%) and the public sector (c.10%).
